Friends Women
Friends Women coordinates women's groups in the individual churches of the Northwest Yearly Meeting for the purpose of missional education, prayer, fundraising, and awareness.
Friends Women is an arm of Evangelical Friends Church - North America (EFC-NA), which invests in outreach, both globally and locally, through prayer, special project funding, financial support, education, encouragement, reading, and fellowship.
The Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends Women organization began in the early 1940s for the purpose of supporting women missionaries through prayer and finances. The first annual banquet was held in 1946 in Newberg, Oregon. Fall retreats began around 1955. Projects have included financial support for Friends Serving Abroad and fledgling churches in the Northwest, including the purchase of equipment, books, clinical supplies, Bible, hymnals, and so on. Scholarship assistance has been given to young women to attend seminars, conferences and more. Ladies are encouraged to write to Friends Serving Abroad, support with finances, and to always PRAY.
